The Cut to Length line is a light to medium gauge continuous shear that offers precision levelling and shearing of mild steel coil products. The line is fitted with an integrated CNC slitter head that allows for multi-slitting and multi-blanking in a single operation. The automated setups provide a high level of dimensional accuracy and repeatability.

- Part of the BSi Steel group is a company called Shearcut which offers various services that form part of a steel processing line. The line is broken into various sections. One of those sections is the cut to length process that allows BSi Steel to cut steel sheet into the required length.
- Shearcut’s cut to length service can handle a full range of materials and thicknesses ranging from 0,3mm to 3,5mm and varying output lengths of +-4000mm.
- Edge trimming:
The purpose of edge trimming is to ensure that accurate blanking sizes are maintained. If we do not edge trim for example on a 10 slit blanking order the inner 8 slits will be within tolerance but we cannot guarantee the tolerance on the outer two cuts due to the mill edge of the coils, the coils do move during processing.
